James Blunt’s ex-girlfriend Camilla Boler has confirmed reports their two-year relationship has come to an end after the singer admitted having an affair with British socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.

The Back To Bedlam phenomenon split with blonde singer Boler during a trans-Atlantic phonecall last week - after Palmer-Tomkinson openly admitted the fling.

Blunt has also been romantically linked to Czech supermodel Petra Nemcova and The Pussycat Dolls singer Jessica Sutta since embarking on a nine-month world tour, but Boler insisted their relationship was still strong.

Boler, who has now fled to Spain to escape the pain of the split, has labelled the singer a selfish “egomaniac” and admits it “breaks her heart” to hear his hit song You’re Beautiful.

She says, “I’ll walk out of a bar if it’s on - it tears me apart. This is a bit of a sensitive matter and very personal. I’m between a rock and a hard place here. Coming to Spain is my attempt to get back to some sort of normality in my life. I don’t want to do anything to degrade something important to me.”

The singer decided to end his two-year relationship with Camilla Boler, claiming that work pressures were driving them apart. Boler has since flown away for a holiday in Spain to recover from the split.”This is a bit of a sensitive matter and very personal. I can’t tell you - I just can’t say anything. I am between a rock and hard place here,” Camilla told the Sunday Mirror. “Coming to Spain is my attempt to get back to some sort of normality in my life. I don’t want to do anything to degrade something important to me.”

Boler was left devastated after tabloid reports linked Blunt to It Girl Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.

A friend explained, “Their happiest times were when they were writing music together and he serenaded her at her flat in Notting Hill. But his ego took over and has changed everything. It’s hard to recognise him since he has become famous.”

James Blunt and Robbie Williams’ albums have gone five-times platinum, say the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).

Blunt’s debut album Back to Bedlam passed the five million mark across Europe and continues to sell well.

Williams also gained a fifth platinum level for European sales for his latest album Intensive Care.

The Rolling Stones, Katie Melua, Zucchero and Radiohead were the other artists to win Platinum Europe Awards.

Back to Bedlam propelled Blunt to stardom and earned him two Brit awards this year - best pop act and best male solo artist.

The American group BEP, the British James Blunt and the Portuguese Boss AC are names confirmed for the 2006 edition of the Algarve Summer Festival, which takes place in June in the Estádio Algarve, Região Sul has learnt.

The three artists will join Daniela Mercury, another name confirmed, for the two-day event, which could take place on 16th and 17th or 17th and 18th of June.

According to our source James Blunt is anticipated to take to the stage on the closing day of the event, also with another three artists.

Last year’s Algarve Summer Festival brought together more than 25 thousand people in the Algarve Stadium,

James Blunt isn’t surprised at the public fascination with his former career as a British Army officer. But the questions surprise him.

“I’m very happy to talk about it,” the singer-songwriter said in a phone interview from a tour stop in Cleveland.

“But what I find surprising is that people are kind of judgmental of those in the army. As if they were purely soldiers with nothing in common with other human beings.

“It’s like, ‘What? You like music and you’re in the army?’ ”

“I guess what they’re saying is that people in the army don’t have any hobbies or interests aside from running around in green. It’s a strange idea.”

Blunt, whose current single “You’re Beautiful,” went to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart earlier this month, joined the British Army in 1999 and served as a peacekeeper in Kosovo, Serbia. He also served as Queen Elizabeth’s bodyguard and ceremonial escort.
