He may be a millionaire pop star with a supermodel girlfriend and armies of fans worldwide but when it came to buying a luxurious Mediterranean hideaway there was only one person James Blunt trusted to find him the perfect pad -his mother.

And 56-year-old Jane seems to have done her son proud, discovering a stunning villa on the island of Ibiza which the singer, who had a No1 hit with You’re Beautiful, has now snapped up for £1.7million.

The 150-year-old hilltop property - surrounded by pine forest - has six bedrooms, a library, sun terrace and an outdoor swimming pool with its own pool house.

It also has stone floors, two antique fireplaces, a two-bedroom guesthouse and staff living quarters.

Thirty-two-year-old Blunt plans to write his second album at the villa and has already spent time there with his lingerie-model girlfriend Petra Nemcova, 27.

A source said: “James’s mum did plenty of legwork for him because he’s been so busy with his work. She viewed at least four properties on Ibiza before recommending this one. James visited and decided he wanted it straightaway.

“It is so remote and peaceful, the perfect place to get away from it all. He has hardly had his feet on the ground since his sudden runaway success. (more…)

James Blunt brings his “Back To Bedlam World Tour” back to North America this fall for an extensive headlining concert tour that will hit 35 cities from coast to coast. Kicking off October 1st in Montreal, the seven-week itinerary is slated to wrap up on November 18th in Las Vegas. Among the highlights of the tour will be Blunt’s debut performance at Radio City Music Hall in New York and the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles.

James Blunt has announced a new string of headlining tour dates for North America, including seven stops across Canada.

According to a press release from Atlantic Records, Blunt will kick off the latest leg of his “Back to Bedlam World Tour” in Montreal on October 1. The trek will wrap up with a show in Las Vegas on November 18.

Just like on his last tour of North America, Blunt will be raising money for Doctors Without Borders with these performances. Each night, a one-on-one post-show meeting with Blunt will be auctioned off at the merchandise booth, with proceeds going to the charity.

Blunt is still on the road in support of his debut album, “Back To Bedlam.” The record features hit singles “You’re Beautiful” and “High.”

Blunt will be offering his fans the chance to hang out with him back stage as long as they donate enough money to the international medical humanitarian organisation Doctors Without Borders.

While in the army, Blunt was stationed at Kosovo and saw first hand the essential work done by the Doctors Without Borders.

Blunt kicks off his North American tour in October, he is currently hanging out in Prague with his model girlfriend Petra Nemcova.

James Blunt has decided to escape the hustle and bustle of city life in UK So, he’s bought a mountain in Spain.

Apparently, the You’re Beautiful hitmaker has decided to up sticks and move to Spain because he prefers to be surrounded by animals rather than people.

A relative told The Sun newspaper: “He’s bought a mountain and a beautiful old house. He wants to get away from it all.

“He wants to live the rural dream - with only donkeys, chickens, pigs and ducks for company.”

The farm is reportedly located in southern Spain and also includes a vineyard and extensive olive grove.

But in case you were a little concerned the songwriter was abandoning his career in favour of being a farmer, never fear.

His relative added: “He hopes to produce his own wine and olive oil while working on his second album.”

James’ current abode is a small flat in west London.

However, the former Army Captain has hardly seen it over the last 12 months, with his work taking him all over the world.

During the photo shoot for her new Rampage ad campaign, model Petra Nemcova had the music of boyfriend James Blunt blasting in the background.

“Everybody seems to love it here and they know the words…with the music you get into it more and you can feel more sexy,” says a clearly giddy Nemcova of her man’s music.

The Sports Illustrated model is also very excited about her new ad campaign. “It’s very glamorous, sophisticated, sensual,” she says, “and it will elevate the Rampage brand much higher. We’re doing very sophisticated, hard lighting, shooting at Pier 59 in New York City this time, not on the beach, it’s fall.”

A five-year-old girl woke from a coma after hearing her favourite pop song by James Blunt on the hospital radio, the Daily Mirror reported on Tuesday.

Claudia Dealwis’s parents Paul and Gaynor, both 40, cried tears of joy and hugged her as her eyes finally opened after 10 days in a coma in a hospital in Burnley, northern Britain.

The song, You’re Beautiful, became an instant hit when released last summer.

Paul said: “We were just so relieved she is out of the coma. We couldn’t believe it. Claudia loves that song and is always singing it. It’s like her very own little theme tune.”

Doctors had feared Claudia might not pull through after she fell head-first from a balcony at a friend’s house and fractured her skull.

Supermodel Petra Nemcova and British singer James Blunt are definitely an item, as they were caught canoodling earlier today on the sandy beaches of Ibiza, Spain. Petra, 26, and James, 29, met in December 2005 at a fundraiser for her tsunami relief organization Happy Hearts. Petra was even spotted backstage at James’ show during the Coachella Music Festival in California. The 26-year-old Czech-born beauty’s British fiance Simon Atlee died when the tidal wave hit Thailand in 2004.

Not since Elvis Presley was drafted has a soldier made as big an impact on the music scene as James Blunt, the former British army officer whose hit single, “You’re Beautiful,” has become a mega-hit in both Britain and the United States.

His debut album, “Back to Bedlam,” has sold more than 2 million copies in the United States since its October release, and more than 9 million worldwide.

Its slow-burn ballad, “You’re Beautiful,” recently became the first single in nearly a decade by a British artist to reach the top of the U.S. charts.

Blunt has been called the world’s most sensitive rock star, and on The Early Show Tuesday, he told co-anchor Rene Syler that “You’re Beautiful” is “just about a moment where I saw my ex-girlfriend. I was on the underground (subway) in London, and she was with her new man, who I didn’t know existed. And in that second, she and I caught eyes and really lived a lifetime in that moment. But I didn’t do anything about it.”

James Blunt sent a defiant message to critics who hate his songs when he accepted his double win at the Ivor Novello Awards.

He delivered the remarks as he picked up awards for You’re Beautiful, which was named International Hit of the Year and Most Performed Work.

As the singer accepted his award, he said: “To all those b****** who don’t like my music - you’re all adults, you can switch your radio off,” he said.

Asked if he ever got sick of hearing You’re Beautiful, he replied: “I don’t have to listen to it, I’m the one who sings it. And it’s continued to get me laid.”

Accepting the award for Most Performed Work, he told the audience: “I should probably be rude about it before anyone else is, so thank you very much for the Most Overplayed Song award.”

Blunt was in no mood to talk about his fling with Tara Palmer Tomkinson.

“I really don’t enjoy the notion of celebrity gossip,” he said.

Blunt’s music has some celebrity supporters. Bee Gee Barry Gibb said: “We like James Blunt. He sounds like us.”
