James and Petra Nemcova have sadly split up. A source close to James confirms that the pair split in February, and that it was “very amicable”. The source also adds that Blunt and Nemcova “remain good friends”. Petra’s rep had no comment.

The model, 27, and the “You’re Beautiful” singer, 32, were last seen together over Oscar week in February, when they hit a slew of parties. They celebrated his birthday and also went to Elton’s John’s Oscar bash, where Blunt performed and Nemcova looked on.

There has been a lot of talk about James Morrison recently, especially comparing him to James Blunt. It is very easy to compare the two as they are both English, both have a similar look, similar styles and the same name.

James has spent the last two years traveling around the world on his sold out world tour has finally taken a break and spent time to work on his next, second album. James has already written the entire album and is now spending time in L.A to record and produce it. James says, “It’s got a good ’70s feel to it,” he said. “I guess it’s the next chapter in how I feel.” “I’m recording with my band, who have toured with me for two years, so they know the new songs and they give a bit of grit and edge that perhaps wasn’t there when I was doing it on my own,” the singer said.
We can expect the album to be finish by the end of spring and in the store in autumn (fall).

James Blunt is going to perform at the 15th annual Elton John AIDS Foundation(EJAF) party to celebrate the Academy Awards on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles.

Thom’s novelty hit I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in my Hair) was the year’s highest selling single, after spending a colossal 10 weeks at No. 1.

Fellow Brit Blunt’s album Back to Bedlam, released in 2005, sold in such quantities it was 2006’s highest seller. Blunt’s album has gone eight times platinum in Australia, racking up more than 400,000 sales. Back to Bedlam was the ninth highest seller in Australia’s 2005 end-of-year chart.

James has had a great year over in America and has quietly managed to sell 2.5million American sales of debut album Back To Bedlam.

According to the latest Billboard chart he is on 2.43million and is expected to reach the magic mark in a couple of weeks. This is an astonishing figure.

The Americans fell in love with his global smash hit You’re Beautiful and he’s been playing to sell-out crowds across the US for the past year.

Love him or loathe him, he’s worked very hard to crack America — barely spending a night in his own bed — and I think he deserves his success there.

But he is the biggest British seller of recent times and is bound to walk off with a handful of Grammy Awards next month.

James has just topped the best selling list for albums in 2006 across Europe for Back To Bedlam!

He has had the highest selling album across Europe beating the Madonna and Red Hot Chili peppers to the top spot.

James Blunt has led the British invasion of the Grammys after notching up five nominations.

Despite the continued popularity of “You’re Beautiful,” the 32-year-old singer-songwriter said getting multiple nominations was “a real surprise.”

His nominations included record of the year, song of the year, new artist and pop vocal album.

He added: “The Grammys is a pretty phenomenal institution. It’s a huge honor,” he said. “It should be a great night.”

The show was stolen by Mary J Blige who picked up eight nominations, and LA’s Red Hot Chili Peppers who landed six nominations for the music industry’s biggest awards.

Other British acts included Corrine Bailey Rae who was nominated no in three categories, the Arctic Monkeys who received two nominations.

Collecting three nominations was “brilliant,” Rae said.

“It’s a great end to the year, to go home for Christmas knowing my name is on a list of people I’ve admired for a long time,” the 27-year-old said.

“The fact that I was on the stage with Mary J. Blige, I think it’s amazing, it’s hilarious. It’s really a big moment, when the weirdness of all of it comes home.”

Besides Rae, other nominees for best new artist included teen R&B singer Chris Brown, Imogen Heap, Blunt, and former “American Idol” winner Carrie Underwood.

Gnarls Barkley, a duo of producer Danger Mouse and rapper/singer Cee-Lo, were surprisingly shut out. However, they did receive a total of four nominations.

The 49th annual Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Feb 11.
