British singer JAMES BLUNT’s parents have asked him to pay back the money they spent putting him through school.The YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL singer, who changed the spelling of his surname from Blount to Blunt, went to prestigious private school Harrow, which charges parents $41,000 (GBP23,625) per year.

Blunt’s debut album has made him wealthy, after selling more than four million copies, so his mother and father now want their investment back.

His dad CHARLIE BLOUNT says, “He’s done frightfully well with all this pop music stuff.

“We’re terribly proud. Apparently he’s sold four million albums or something. That sounds very encouraging.

“We have decided that the time is right to ask him to repay us the considerable school fees we spent on him as a boy.”

British singer JAMES BLUNT can sit back and relax this Christmas - because his father will be doing the singing.The YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL hitmaker, 28, loves to make his father CHARLIE BLOUNT sing as his voice is so terrible it entertains the whole family.

He says, “I still believe in Father Christmas. He always takes a bite out of the mince pie that we leave in the fireplace, and leaves tracks around the house.

“Having just toured the States, I am planning to take a break from the singing this weekend, but I will force my father to sing THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS for our amusement, because he is such a bad singer.

“We are all going to my sister’s house in Sussex (south England), and will eat lots and drink even more. By the evening we shall all have passed out on the sofa.”

He thinks she’s Beautiful but James Blunt’s girlfriend Camilla Bowler finds her fella’s fame a turn-off.

Camilla, 21, said at a screening of Annie Hall in Notting Hill, London: “It’s so hard to see James, I wish we could just go for walks in the park on a Sunday but he’s always travelling.

 

 

 

 

“I only see him at parties and there’s always the paparazzi there. I can’t bear it.”

The pair split three months ago but got back together in October.

However we hear James, 31, has recently got friendly with Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

Intense radio airplay and strong sales for stars including James Blunt, Daniel Powter, Jack Johnson and KT Tunstall suggests 2005 has been the year of the singer-songwriter.

This new crop of musicians are blessed with good looks and the ability to write songs that are memorable, credible and widely accessible.

But regardless of their differences, all have been topping charts and reaping sales. Blunt has had the biggest-selling UK album this year, with sales of 2.1 million so far.
