James Blunt insists he can take criticism in his stride following the massive success of his debut album ‘Back To Bedlam’. The singer-songwriter enjoyed the biggest selling album of last year in the UK and also topped the charts with single ‘You’re Beautiful’. He has been regularly criticised in the music press for being bland and boring, but he insists the support of his legion of fans helps him to cope with the doubters. He said: “I’ve definitely suffered from the backlash thing, but I’ve also had a huge amount of support along the way. “I know if you put your head above the parapet you should expect to get shot at in some way. “I always remind myself and others that without the support I’ve had back home in England then I wouldn’t have made it anywhere else in the world because it brought me to their attention in the first place.” |

Never beleive the haters, they get their fun by getting you down. There are so many of us here, in Ireland, that love and support you. Your words speak to everyone, but each person gets a different meaning. you truly are an amazing songwriter. Live the dream and keep your music honest, we will love you more for it…

I think James Blunt is a gentle soul. When you watch him perform (video or live), you are mesmerized by his eyes and the innocent expression on his face. I can’t think of many performers who have that. He is truly special; a gorgeous man, and I enjoy his music and lyrics. You know, he just might be a celestial being. He looks like he came down from heaven anyway. I hope he never loses that “light”!!
