James Blunt arrived in Kosovo Monday to begin shooting a documentary about his service in Kosovo Force (KFOR), the NATO-led international force in Serbia’s breakaway province, KFOR officials said. Blunt is also due to hold a concert for KFOR members in Kosovo’s capital Pristina during his three-day visit. Blunt served in KFOR in 1999, early after NATO intervened to stop the conflict between ethnic Albanian insurgents and Belgrade security forces. Though Kosovo is formally still a Serbian province, it is administered by the United Nations. The majority ethnic Albanian population in the province is pushing for independence, while Serbia insists on giving it only wide autonomy. |
